Wet felt-making

This week, I have a gift for you. Well it is the end of January and the weather outside is frightful (at least where I live – windy and very wet). One needs cheering up! So I am giving you the opportunity to learn how to make felt from wool fibres – for free. This used to be a paid class but I am re-organising some of my resources and I’ve chosen to put this short class into the collection on my YouTube channel so I invite you to check it out.

The YouTube channel is called Amanda Jane Textiles and this is the link: https://m.youtube.com/c/AmandaJaneTextiles

There are lots of video tutorials on various aspects of quilt-making and embroidery. Follow the channel to get updates on new videos.

If you want to go straight to the wet-felting tutorial click this link: https://youtu.be/RfpZP2NUWTY

Enjoy!

As it’s the start of the year, you may be starting a journal, keeping a special notebook or similar, so I’m going to recommend this pattern which shows you how to create your own fabric cover complete with free-machine embroidered flowers and lettering. The pattern includes all the instructions for you to follow so you can achieve success even if you have not tried free-machine embroidery before. It can easily be adapted to different sizes of books.
