It has always seemed a little odd to have two UK Bank Holidays in the same month. However, this year we have had three! So today, on Bank Holiday Monday III, I’m choosing to write about my seven rather unusual (let’s call them ‘quirky’) fabric designs. Most of my (one hundred plus) fabric designs are organised into cohesive collections. Each of the ‘Quirky’ designs is a one-off, so let me introduce you.
‘Pretty Pickles’ fabric design
This is a cheerful celebration of vegetables (all of which could be made into pickle!). I think it would make for fun kitchen curtains. Buy the fabric here
‘Fitness’ fabric design
This is feminine celebration of running, with maroon-striped white running shoes on a pink background. I’d like to see it on stretch leggings. Buy the fabric here
‘Power Tools’ fabric design
This cheeky modern take on a brocade-style design is a celebration of the power drill and the jig-saw. It would look good on a man’s summer shirt or how about a cotton jersey T-shirt for a confident female DIY-er? Buy the fabric here
‘New Hairdo’ fabric design
With reference to cutting things, there is also a design about cutting hair: ‘New Hairdo’ suggests at least nine new styles that could be created! This has already been used to make a mask for a hairdresser during the pandemic (see the post here). Buy the fabric here.
‘Cycling for Clowns and Acrobats’ fabric design
This depicts a modern circus. There are no suffering animals, just some very skilful bike-riders. Buy the fabric here.
‘Birthday Ages’ fabric design
This started out as a celebration of a piñata and since this party game is often played at birthday parties, these piñatas are all in the shape of numbers. The fabric would be fun for furnishings in a young child’s room. Buy the fabric here
‘Llamas in Pyjamas’ fabric design
In connection with children and bedrooms, here’s a really different fabric for nightwear. Llamas in pyjamas? Whyever not! Buy the fabric here.
So there you have it: my seven highly individual ‘quirky’ designs. Happy Bank Holiday Monday (the third!)
