I have just received some printed fabric samples from Spoonflower, the American print-on-demand company who hold my fabric designs. It’s always exciting to open the package!

Inside were three new coordinates to go with my ‘Sails and Whales’ design (available here):
We are fortunate to often see sailing boats going by as we walk by the sea in Ramsgate. I don’t suppose there are too many whales, though! Many yachts like the one above are moored in the harbour here. I am drawn again and again to these soft colours of aqua and grey, adding red and white for contrast. The ‘Farne Islands’ design (available here) also uses these colours:
To expand this design into a collection, I’ve added a design of the boats on a white background (available here):
I thought a polka-dot fabric would work well with the two above. Here is the polka-dot on white (available here):
The polka-dot on blue (available here) looks like this:
These fabrics would look very pretty in a nursery and would be suitable for both boys and girls. I’m starting to think about a little quilt…
