On Saturday this week, I was at Dreamland in Margate, Kent in the Roller Disco section. It was the scene of the Margate WI Christmas Fayre.
We informally call ourselves the Mermaids, hence the mermaid in the bottom left-hand corner.
I had a number of quilts with me and lots of smaller textile-related items.
I wore my Christmas jumper (navy blue with white, yellow and pink stars)!

I don’t often sell in person, so it was good to have the opportunity to talk to customers about the items. Now I am back to selling only online, I’d like to be a bit more informal in my descriptions of the quilts I have made.
In my Etsy shop ‘Amanda Handmade Quilts’ I have decided to put in a brief paragraph headed ‘THE STORY OF THE QUILT’.
If you go to the shop here you can see the ones I have written so far. Many of the quilts are quite personal. I generally describe them quite impersonally but actually I am beginning to think that it is better to explain how they came about.
What do you think? Take a look and let me know. I will be adding more quilts to the shop as this week goes on.
Thank you for reading my blog. Quilt Patterns are listed here with links to the Etsy shop, Fabrics are on the Spoonflower website here, Classes are on this website here
