New pattern release: Black White Greys

This week there is a new pattern in the Amanda Jane Textiles Etsy shop. I designed and made it originally for an American magazine, as a monochrome quilt made from black and white solids together with a collection of greys. I am now happy to be able to publish it as an Amanda Jane Textiles pattern.

The block is a vibrant one which relies on being able to master partial seams. Never fear, the process is explained in full, step by step, with a photo for each stage. The same block is used throughout, but the subtle variations across the quilt are produced by the variety of (in this case) grey fabrics in the centre of each block.

Although I first imagined it as being suitable for a modern interior, as seen below, the monochrome could be swopped for a colourful version which would look completely different. The size, 60 x 60″ (152.4 x 152.4) makes a good-sized throw for a sofa or a topper for a standard double bed.

The pattern has suggestions for how the quilt could be quilted and includes instructions for binding and finishing the quilt.
