My friend Alison Moore went to her niece’s wedding recently. Being a keen quilter, Alison made a quilt as a wedding gift for the bride and groom, Kathy and Rich. I was keen to see the quilt before it went off to the big event and here it is.

Alison chose the ‘Hearts and Crosses’ quilt pattern by Sarah Ashford from issue 62 of Quilt Now.

Alison used some of my Amanda Jane Textiles fabrics in the quilt.

The heart on the top left heart and the bottom row centre cross are made with ‘Dancing Spoons’ (you can find the fabric here)

Today, I have been taking my turn as a steward at the Festival of Quilts at Belsay, in Northumberland.

Over 450 quilts are on display here, until the 27th May. Photos of quilts in the exhibition can only be taken for personal use, so I can’t show you pictures of rooms full of quilts. However I can show you ‘Green Thoughts’ made with Alison (who created the wedding quilt mentioned above). You can read more about this quilt here.
