My friend Alison Moore went to her niece’s wedding recently. Being a keen quilter, Alison made a quilt as a wedding gift for the bride and groom, Kathy and Rich. I was keen to see the quilt before it went off to the big event and here it is.

Alison chose the ‘Hearts and Crosses’ quilt pattern by Sarah Ashford from issue 62 of Quilt Now. Alison used some of my Amanda Jane Textiles fabrics in the quilt.
The heart on the top left heart and the bottom row centre cross are made with ‘Dancing Spoons’ (you can find it here)

The top row centre cross and the bottom row right heart are made with ‘Dancing Tools’ (you can find it here).

The heart on the top right is made with ‘Power Tools’ (you can find it here)

The cross in the centre row on the left is made with ‘Artist’s Stripe’ (you can find it here).

The centre heart is made with ‘Jumping Cow’ (you can find it here)

The centre right cross is made with ‘Votes for Goats’ (you can find it here)

The bottom left heart is made with ‘Dachshunds’ (you can find it here)

Today, I have been taking my turn as a steward at the Festival of Quilts at Belsay, in Northumberland.

Over 450 quilts are on display here, until the 27th May. Photos of quilts in the exhibition can only be taken for personal use, so I can’t show you pictures of rooms full of quilts. However I can show you ‘Green Thoughts’ made with Alison (who created the wedding quilt mentioned above). You can read more about this quilt here.

and my own quilt ‘Flower Girl’

and my ‘Copper and Gold’ quilt was hanging nearby. I have now written a pattern for this which you can find here.

Thank you for reading my blog. Quilt patterns are here, Fabrics are here, Classes are here.
