Goodbye Quilt Now

This week I received an email to tell me that the decision had been made to close Quilt Now magazine and not to print any more issues. Several factors may have influenced this decision, but difficulties caused by the Covid-19 virus have certainly played a large part. The magazine has been a huge part of my quilting journey and I am so sad that this has happened.

I bought the very first issue – and many more after that. I met the founding editor Katy Jones at the Festival of Quilts in August 2014 before starting my small business and first wrote this project for her in 2017.

Many more projects followed over the following three years (you can see them on the Press page here). More recently I have worked for editor Bethany Armitage and my last two projects for her, both published in May 2020 were this one:

…and this one. These are two of my favourite projects ever, I think. The medallion quilt is on our spare room bed at home as I write.

I’d like to pay tribute here to both Katy Jones and Bethany Armitage for being excellent editors and a pleasure to work for.

This is a sad day. I’ll leave it at that.

Thank you for reading my blog. Quilt patterns are here, Fabrics are here, Classes are here
