New pattern release: ‘Happy Scrappy Squares’

'Happy Scrappy Squares' quilt by Amanda Jane Textiles

I’m happy to tell you that my scrap-loving quilt pattern ‘Happy Scrappy Squares’ has just gone in to the Amanda Jane Textiles Etsy shop. This is a pattern that I first designed for ‘Make Modern’ and which I am now allowed – under my contract with magazine – to publish under my own name.

The original of this quilt is now with a new owner – someone who had an eye for a good thing, I think. It was a quilt I was sorry to see go, although I am glad it is making someone else happy.

The quilt uses bright, modern colours and it invites you to use up to 90 different fabrics from your accumulated scraps if you wish to. The colour balance across the quilt has been carefully designed and the way each block is framed means that the difference hues ‘speak’ to each other across the quilt. Full instructions are given with a lots of colour photographs, so the pattern is suitable for an intermediate quilter or a confident beginner.
