This is the fifth stage in the ‘Summer Bouquets’ Quiltalong. You can find information about the Quiltalong here. The quilt uses fabrics from my ‘Summer Bouquets’ collection on Spoonflower.
This month, for the ‘Summer Bouquets’ Quiltalong, we will be making the columns.

1 First make column One. Take one ‘first block’. (Instructions for making this block were in the post here)

2 Join it along the long side to the long side of a ‘second block’ (instructions for making this block were in this post here)

3 Add two more ‘second blocks’ in a vertical column.
4 Finally, add a ‘first block’ at the bottom of the column.
Column One is complete.
5 Repeat steps 1 to 4 to make Column Three.
6 Now make Column Two. Take the remaining four ‘second block’ pieces and join them along the long sides to make a column.
7 Press well. Set the three columns aside until next month. The next set of instructions will appear on Monday 14 June 2021.
In June 2021, I will be teaching two Textiles workshops at the Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle, County Durham DL12 8NP. The museum re-opens on May 17th 2021, with a wonderful exhibition of quilts entitled: North Country Quilts: in celebration of new acquisitions.

May brings the warmer weather, so how about some lemonade? This fabric design is called ‘Lemonade Bubbles’ and it’s available here
