‘Summer Bouquets’ cutting out

The 'Summer Bouquets' quilt which forms the quiltalong 2021 with Amanda Jane Textiles

The quantities required for the quilt and links to the fabrics are given in January’s post here

The instructions for cutting out all the fabrics for the ‘Summer Bouquets’ quilt are below. Please read the special note about cutting the fabric into rectangles below.

PLEASE NOTE: The rectangles in this quilt are oblongs, not squares, so it is important to cut them carefully into triangles. Count the total number of cut rectangles out into two equal piles. Cut the oblongs in the first pile on the diagonal from top left to bottom right. Cut the oblongs in the second pile on the diagonal from bottom left to top right, (as shown in the photo).

From Fabric A (White Dahlia) cut:

ten pieces 10½ wide x 8½”long (26.7 x 21.6cm)

From Fabric B (Blooms and Stems) cut:

eight strips 4½ wide x 32½” long (11.4 x 82.5cm) down the length of the fabric

From Fabric C (Crimson Berry Stripe) cut:

four strips 3½” wide x 33½” long (8.9 x 85.1cm) down the length of the fabric

and

four strips 3½” wide 36½” long (8.9 x 92.7cm) down the length of the fabric

From Fabric D (Twin Roses) cut:

four strips 1½ x 31½” (38mm x 80cm) across the width of the fabric

four rectangles 8⅞ x 4⅞” (22.5 x 12.4cm) then sub-cut each of these into triangles as described in bold in the box above

From Fabric E (green solid) cut

four rectangles 8⅞ x 4⅞” (22.5 x 12.4cm) then sub-cut each of these into triangles as described in bold in the box above

From Fabric F (White Blooms on Pink) cut

twenty rectangles 5⅞ wide x 4⅞” high (14.9 x 12.4cm) then sub-cut each of these into triangles as described in bold in the box above

and

twenty rectangles 4⅞” wide and 3⅞” high (12.4 x 9.8cm) then sub-cut each of these into triangles as described in bold in the box above

From Fabric G cut

twenty rectangles 5⅞ wide x 4⅞” high (14.9 x 12.4cm) then sub-cut each of these into triangles as described in bold in the box above

and

twenty rectangles 4⅞” wide and 3⅞” high (12.4 x 9.8cm) then sub-cut each of these into triangles as described in bold in the box above

From Fabric H (white solid) cut

strips 4½” (11.4cm) wide across the fabric and sub-cut to create forty-four rectangles 3½ x 4½” (8.9 x 11.4cm)

eight rectangles 8⅞ x 4⅞” (22.5 x 12.4cm) then sub-cut each of these into triangles as described in bold in the box above

From Fabric I (pink solid) cut

four strips 1½ x 33½” wide (3.8cm x 85.1cm)
